About Roy Harris
Here I am in 2025 with my Jeet Kune Do, Jun Fan and Filipino Martial Arts Instructor, Guro Dan Inosanto
For over four decades, I've dedicated my life to answering one, very important, question:
How can ordinary people become remarkably effective in their training without relying on exceptional athletic ability — in just a short amount of time?
That question has taken me around the world, studying nearly thirty different styles of martial art under dozens of exceptional instructors and teaching thousands of students—from complete beginners to SEALs and GROM, to hobbyists in their 70s and 80s, to deputies, officers and agents, as well as men and women simply looking to enjoy their training without unnecessary injuries.
Along the way, I discovered that the greatest obstacle to progress isn't usually a lack of effort. It's inefficient movement, poor mechanics, and training methods that don't fit the individual.
I've helped hundreds of Jiu Jitsu students between the ages of forty and seventy dramatically reduce injuries while increasing confidence and enjoyment on the mat. I've helped numerous Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Martial Arts practitioners bridge the gap between practicing techniques (i.e., "art") and applying them under pressure (i.e., "fighting"). I've shown smaller, older, and less athletic students how leverage, timing, distance management, and positioning can overcome youth, strength, and size.
My goal isn't simply to teach techniques. Rather, it's to solve the problems standing between you and the practitioner you desire to become.
If you're looking for intelligent instruction, measurable progress, and an instructor, coach, and mentor committed to helping you succeed, I'd be honored to help. Contact me at the phone number or email address listed below and let's chat!
Thank you for your time,
Roy
